Yarraman Heritage Museum
Home to the Visitor Information Centre situated in the heart of Yarraman on two and three quarter acres. This once Sisters of Mercy Convent, built in 1945, is a plethora of historical buildings including the c1913 Yarraman Railway Station, a c1921 slab hut, a c1930 farmers cottage, Arthur Brown’s butcher shop and district cultural museum displays; “Wooden Wealth”, the history of timber in the district; Tarong Energy display and the history of the first power house in Yarraman; a military memorabilia display featuring an extensive gun and rifle display.

Muntapa Tunnel
Muntapa Tunnel is Queensland’s longest straight railway tunnel at 287 metres. The disused tunnel is now home to a colony of bent winged bats. The tunnel was opened in 1913 and was closed in 1964. This is a great day drip from the caravan park, there is a toilet and picnic area so it’s a great place to rest and have a picnic. While you cannot walk all the way through the tunnel (there is a section in the middle closed off to protect the bats), you can walk in each end.
One end is down a flight of stairs – good quality new stairs.
The other end is a trail into the end of the tunnel where you can go in far enough to feel the change in temperature and need a torch. A great adventure for the kids!

Friends of Yarraman Creek
Upstream of Emmet St – wild life (150 bird types and platypus) and riparian flora habitat area. Guided tours can be arranged.
Wineries
The caravan park is a great base to explore the wineries and gourmet food of the South Burnett region, most of which are within an hours drive from the park. We have brochures, maps and information available, just ask one of our friendly reception staff.
You can choose to drive yourself, or arrange a tour – either way you will enjoy some great wine, fabulous food and gorgeous countryside.
Here are some of our favourite destinations:
Kingsley Grove Estate: These guys do fabulous wood fired pizzas and wine ice creams – sounds delicious doesn’t it! You can book for a Signature Wine Experience or keep an eye out for some of their great events. They even have a pet friendly outdoor area for those of us who travel with furry friends. Dusty Hill Vineyard: Overlooking Lake Barambah, this is one of the regions first established wineries. Including an Irish Tavern, restaurant and function spaces, there are lots of options to choose from here. They also have an outdoor pet friendly area.
Clovely Estate: In addition to amazing wine, this winery won silver at the 2023 London Spirits Competition for their Apinya Gin – not bad for a small batch craft gin!
Moffatdale Ridge: A family owned and operated vineyard producing wine and liquers. Their D’vine Restaurant showcases local produce, offering both platters and an a la carte menu.
Nuova Scuola: Their motto #drinkoutsidethebox says it all. Stefano and Sarah aim to offer a unique selection of lessor known, but equally delicioius varieties of wines, so if you like discovering something new, this is the place for you.
Coomba Falls
Coomba Falls, located approximately 2km east of Maidenwell, is a natural beauty spot featuring granite cliffs and a deep natural swimming hole.
There are 152 well maintained steps down to the waterhole, it is well worth the walk – surrounded by a vast collection of grass trees the platform at the bottom is a great place for picnicing, swimming, birdwatching and photography. Oh and keep an eye out for the goat who loves clambering over the rocks.

Palms National Park
The Palms National Park is a small national park consisting of mixed palm vine forest and subtropical rainforest. A special feature of the park are the piccabeen palms and grey headed flying foxes found roosting in the summer months.

Bunya Mountains National Park
The Bunya Mountains National Park is the western most rainforest national park in South East Queensland. It consists of 11,700 hectares and rises 600 metres above the surrounding plains. It is famous for the distinctive dome shaped Bunya trees.

Phoenix Creek Motocross Park
A motocross park for the whole family – ride motocross and trail bikes on tracks specifically designed for all skill levels. A true family park – no kids riding, no riding. 7km from Yarraman.
MotoCross Mountain
MotoCross Mountain offers motocross and SuperX tracks as well as a track for children and a 22km cross country track with challenging hill climbs.

Kingaroy Astronomical Observatory
Kingaroy Astronomical Observatory is the largest privately-owned astronomical observatory in Queensland. The observatory is owned and run by professional astronomer Jim Barclay. With over 50 years experience in the field, you are guaranteed an informative and entertaining evening taking in the beauty of Kingaroy’s dark night sky.
